Which countries are supported?

Currently: United States, United Kingdom, EU / Schengen, France, Singapore, India, China, Japan, Australia, Canada, Philippines, Spain. Each preset uses the official millimeter size at 300 DPI. Always double-check the latest requirements on your country's official immigration site — specs occasionally change.

Does it auto-detect my face?

Yes. The tool loads a face-landmark model (~3.6 MB, in-browser) the first time you drop a photo, then auto-positions the crop so your head fills the country-specific share of the frame and your eyes sit at the right height. The auto-positioning is a starting point — it works best for adult portraits with normal hair. You can always drag the highlighted box to fine-tune before generating.

Will the photo actually be accepted?

The dimensions and DPI will be correct. Most rejection reasons come from the photo content itself (shadows, glasses, expression, background color) rather than size. Take your source photo in even light, against a plain off-white wall, looking straight at the camera, neutral expression. Most countries require the head to occupy a specific fraction of the frame — adjust the crop accordingly.

Why does this work without uploading?

The crop and resize happen in your browser using the Canvas API. The file never leaves your device — no server, no logs, no history. We can't see your passport photo.
