How to take your Singapore passport photo at home
- Plain white background. ICA requires a uniform white background with no shadow. Use a white wall in soft daylight, standing far enough forward that no shadow lands behind you.
- Taken within the last 3 months. Singapore's freshness window is tighter than most — 3 months, not 6. An older photo is rejected at the counter or on the portal.
- Digital upload is exactly 400 × 514 px. ICA's online portal accepts only a 400 × 514 px JPEG. This tool's Singapore preset outputs that exact size — any other dimensions are rejected on upload.
- Skull-to-chin is 70–80% of height. The ICAO head-length rule measures to the apex of the skull, not the top of your hair. The preset fits this; just keep hair off your face.
- No glasses, neutral face. Eyewear is not permitted. Mouth closed, both eyes clearly visible, ears unobstructed.

Singapore visa photo
Singapore visas (Long-Term Visit Pass, Employment Pass, Student's Pass) use the same 35 × 45 mm format. ICA's MyICA portal accepts the same 400 × 514 px digital photo for both passport and most visa applications.
Baby and infant photos
For children under 11, ICA accepts photos with eyes closed if the child cannot keep them open. The white background and 70–80% head share still apply. Hands or other people in frame are not allowed.
Privacy: why no upload matters
